Water and sewage overflow floods homes in Dundalk
Nearly 250,000 gallons of sewage and water spilled out of manholes in Dundalk early Friday morning, flooding several basements and closing a road, according to Baltimore County public works officials. The problem started when a Baltimore city water line broke, sending water into the North Point Village Sewage Pumping Station at 7618 North Battle Grove Road, officials said.

Ray Lewis Not Bothered by Fan Petition to Have Ravens Remove His Statue
Legendary Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis said a petition to remove his statue outside the team's M&T Bank Stadium doesn't bother him, but he noted his decision to get down on both knees during the national anthem Sunday was a form of prayer, not protest.
CBS Baltimore passed along comments the 13-time NFL Pro Bowl selection made on The Scott Garceau Show on Tuesday about the statue petition.
"It only bothers me if I blatantly did something to gain awareness for myself," Lewis said. "What I did—is for our country. That's why I challenge people."
He added: "You can protest, I'm gonna pray."

Ravens National Anthem Singer Resigns over Protest Reactions
Baltimore Ravens national anthem singer Joey Odoms announced his resignation Tuesday, citing fan reaction to protests of social injustice during the national anthem around the NFL.
According to ESPN.com's Jamison Hensley, Odoms explained on Facebook that the "tone/actions of a large number of NFL fans in the midst of our country's cultural crisis have convinced me that I do not belong there. Someone once told me to always 'go where you're welcomed.'"
Odoms later told WJZ he supports players' rights to express themselves but felt it was best to remove himself from the position given the tenor of local and national dialogue.
"I support the protest personally—I fought for that right, but I don't like people using people like me to attack those people who are exercising their right," he said, per CBS Baltimore.
Odoms added that he thought if he explained what his views were, "a segment of the fanbase would attack me."
Odoms started singing the anthem at M&T Bank Stadium in 2014 after serving as a soldier in Afghanistan. He is a member of Maryland's national guard.
"We greatly appreciate the work Joey did for us, and we thank him," the Ravens said in a statement, per Hensley.

John Harbaugh on Ravens Playing in London: 'Somebody Else Can Have That Job'
The Baltimore Ravens' first experience of playing in London didn't go as planned, as they suffered a 44-7 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Unsurprisingly, head coach John Harbaugh would prefer to avoid these types of games in the future.
"To be honest with you—and maybe I'll get into trouble for saying this—don't plan on going over there any time soon to play again," Harbaugh said, per Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com. "So, somebody else can have that job."
The Ravens had never played a game outside the United States in their history, while the Jaguars have become regulars in the London series. Jacksonville has had a game in England in each of the last five seasons, now winning in three straight years.
Considering the team is only 10-25 since the start of 2015, the 3-0 record across the pond is impressive.
There were apparently several logistical challenges for the Ravens, including staying at a hotel 45 minutes outside of London.
"Some things we have no control over," Harbaugh explained. "We have no control where we stay, how far the bus ride is, how long it takes to get to the stadium. What impact it had are things we look at."
The 9:30 a.m. ET start time was also likely an adjustment, although the game still ended up being a completely one-sided affair. Joe Flacco finished with just 28 passing yards in the team's first loss of the season.
There are three more games at Wembley Stadium in London this season, including the first appearances by the Arizona Cardinals and Cleveland Browns.

Mike Wallace, Breshad Perriman's Fantasy Outlook After Jeremy Maclin's Injury
The Baltimore Ravens added Jeremy Maclin this offseason hoping he could provide an upgrade to the receiving corps, but they may have to go back to playing without him after the veteran was placed in the concussion protocol during Sunday morning's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
This will leave Joe Flacco with several familiar options on the roster, although it will be difficult to expect huge fantasy football contributions from any of them.
Mike Wallace is coming off a strong year in 2016 where he topped 1,000 receiving yards for the first time since 2011. However, he remains an inconsistent option who can't be trusted to put up big numbers from week to week.
In fact, he didn't have a single touchdown in the second half of last season and failed to top 70 receiving yards in a single game.
The 31-year-old came into Sunday with just two receptions for 15 yards this year and, though he could potentially come through with a long touchdown or two, he could just as easily produce a dud for your fantasy lineup.
The same could be said about Breshad Perriman, who has shown flashes of solid play but is yet to give any real indication he could be a consistent threat in the NFL.
While he could be useful as a high-upside addition to a fantasy roster, he shouldn't be inserted into any lineup until he proves he can rack up yards and touchdowns.
In an offense that doesn't produce a lot of points, the replacement options for Maclin simply aren't too exciting at the moment.

Jeremy Maclin Placed in Concussion Protocol During Ravens vs. Jaguars
The Baltimore Ravens announced on Sunday morning that wide receiver Jeremy Maclin was placed in the concussion protocol during the team's game in London against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
This would be a difficult setback for the Ravens if Maclin is forced to miss time considering he is one of the primary weapons in the aerial attack and was brought in to at least in part help replace the retired Steve Smith Sr.'s production.
He suffered a groin injury in 2016 when playing for the Kansas City Chiefs, but he has proved durable throughout his career outside of one major setback. Maclin played at least 13 games in six of his first seven seasons (and at least 15 games five times), but he missed the entire 2013 campaign with a torn ACL.
He topped 1,000 receiving yards in 2014 and 2015 but turned in a career-low 536 receiving yards last year with the Kansas City Chiefs. He came into Sunday's game with six receptions for 87 yards and two touchdowns.
Baltimore will have to turn toward a collection of other playmakers in Maclin's absence.
Mike Wallace and Breshad Perriman both bring upside to the table, but Baltimore is far more dangerous on the offensive side when Maclin is healthy.

Javorius Allen, Terrance West, Alex Collins Updated Fantasy Outlook After Week 2
Sunday was a good time to start a Baltimore Ravens running back in your fantasy team, as the trio of Javorius Allen, Terrance West and Alex Collins combined for 130 yards on the ground as well as 58 receiving yards in a 24-10 victory over the Cleveland Browns at M&T Bank Stadium.
Pro Football Focus' Nathan Jahnke shared the snap count for Allen, West and Collins:
Based on that, Allen may be poised to become the best fantasy option out of Baltimore's backfield.
Javorius Allen
Allen was the team's leading rusher, finishing the game with 14 carries for 66 yards. Even more importantly, he saw the second-most targets of any Ravens player (six) and caught five passes for 35 yards and a touchdown.
The NFL shared a replay of his touchdown grab in the second quarter:
Allen also had an encouraging showing (21 carries, 71 yards) in Baltimore's season-opening win over the Cincinnati Bengals.
Rotoworld's Evan Silva sees Allen's stock climbing significantly:
Fantasy owners should act quickly to snag the third-year player off the waiver wire since he's likely to be available. Considering his workload, Allen appears to be the Ravens' first option on the ground, making him worthy of flex status heading into Week 3.
Terrance West
Just because Allen is on the rise doesn't mean fantasy owners should immediately jettison West. He had eight carries for 22 yards and a touchdown as well as two receptions for 23 yards, which meant a healthy return for anybody who started him in Week 2.
Owners should, however, monitor West's usage next week against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The fact Allen had more than twice as many snaps as West doesn't bode well for the latter's potential.
Fantasy owners flush with running back depth should consider possibly placing West on the bench as a precaution should Allen's rise continue to diminish West's role in Baltimore's offense.
Alex Collins
Barring an injury to Allen or West, Collins is a non-factor in standard leagues. He had 42 rushing yards on seven carries. While that averages out to a healthy six yards a carry, it wouldn't appear a breakthrough is on the horizon for the former Arkansas Razorback based on his snap count.
And unlike West and Allen, Collins didn't see a single target Sunday. In 11 games for the Seattle Seahawks last year, Collins had 11 receptions for 84 yards.
It's hard to see where Collins' upside is at the moment.

Marshal Yanda Suffers Season-Ending Ankle Injury During Ravens vs. Browns
The Baltimore Ravens announced offensive lineman Marshal Yanda suffered a season-ending ankle injury during Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns.
Baltimore defeated its AFC North rival 24-10.
This setback is a significant blow to the Ravens. Yanda has been to six straight Pro Bowls, but that honor alone doesn't capture his full impact, as Chris Wesseling of NFL.com pointed out:
Pro Football Focus ranked him as its highest-graded guard of the 2015 campaign, while Gordon McGuinness of Pro Football Focus noted Yanda was the best run-blocker among all guards in the league in 2014. McGuinness wrote, "Yanda has been one of the players who has set the standard at the position throughout his career."
He has continued that success in the years since, serving as an anchor up front for the Ravens.
The Ravens will need someone else to shoulder the load as they compete for a playoff spot in the AFC. Jermaine Eluemunor is one option after Baltimore drafted him in the fifth round out of Texas A&M, but asking him to replicate Yanda's impact so quickly in his career is a tall order.

Kenneth Dixon Gets 2 Games Added to Suspension for Substance Abuse
The NFL announced Baltimore Ravens running back Kenneth Dixon has been suspended two additional games, bringing his total to six for violating the league's substance abuse policy.
Jamison Henley of ESPN.com reported the news.
Dixon, 23, was already suspended four games for violating the performance-enhancing drug policy. The Ravens placed Dixon on injured reserve earlier this month after he suffered a torn meniscus during the preseason. He will miss the entire 2017 season but will forfeit six games' worth of salary ($190,588) during the suspension.
"I want to apologize to the Ravens organization, my coaches, teammates and fans," Dixon said in a statement for his first suspension. "Being an NFL player is a privilege that comes with many responsibilities, including knowing the contents of any and all foods and supplements put in your body.
"I mistakenly took a substance without the proper NFL medical exemption, and while it was unintentional, I accept full responsibility for my actions and their consequences. I am truly sorry for the mistake I made and the distraction it causes. Moving forward, I remain committed to focusing on my offseason training, conditioning and game preparation so I can be an immediate impact player for the Ravens when my suspension is over."
The former Louisiana Tech star finished with 382 yards and two touchdowns during his rookie season. He was expected to split carries with Terrance West before the injury and suspension.

Hue Jackson Says Joe Flacco Has Developed into One of NFL's Elite QBs
"Is Joe Flacco elite?" has become such a meme it's spawned t-shirts and even been put on beer cans.
Cleveland Browns coach Hue Jackson gave his answer to the matter Wednesday: Yes, Flacco is indeed "elite."
"Joe has gone on and obviously become one of the elite quarterbacks in the league," Jackson said Wednesday in a conference call with reporters.
Jackson cited Flacco's past Super Bowl victory as the reason he has "status in the league."

Danny Woodhead Reportedly out 4-6 Weeks with Hamstring Injury
Baltimore Ravens running back Danny Woodhead will reportedly miss at least a few games due to a hamstring injury.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported the expectation is Woodhead will be out four to six weeks.
Rapoport also noted the Ravens will need to make a roster decision in Woodhead's absence but could add Jeremy Langford or Alex Collins to the 53-man roster from the practice squad.
Woodhead was injured on the last play of Baltimore's opening drive against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 1. He fell to the ground grabbing his leg and was helped off the field.
"We'll see," Woodhead said about the injury, via ESPN's Jamison Hensley. "It's one of those things ... we'll wait until we get back."
Injuries have become a problem for Woodhead, especially since the start of the 2016 season. He played in just two games for the San Diego Chargers last year after tearing his ACL against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
After signing with the Ravens in the offseason, Woodhead missed the team's final two preseason games with a hamstring injury.
The Ravens still have Terrance West as their starter at running back, with third-year player Javorius Allen moving up on the depth chart as the No. 2 back.

Terrance West, Javorius Allen's Fantasy Outlook After Danny Woodhead's Injury
Baltimore Ravens running back Danny Woodhead suffered a hamstring injury on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals, and his return was listed as doubtful by the team.
That leaves a major question for fantasy owners: If Woodhead's injury causes him to miss any games going forward, how does that impact the fantasy value of Terrance West and Javorius Allen?
For West, the answer is pretty straightforward. Because he was expected to be the team's leading ball-carrier coming and early-downs rusher heading into Week 1—Woodhead was set to serve as the team's scatback, handling more of the passing-game duties out of the backfield—West's fantasy value shouldn't change much at all.
Coming into Week 1, it was safe to consider West nothing more than a flex option, with the potential to slide into the low-end RB2 category in the best matchups. While Woodhead's absence could mean a few more touches for West, he shouldn't see any significant bump in fantasy value.
Allen's projection is much harder to make. While he should absolutely see a bump in usage with Woodhead injured, he's simply not as dynamic in the passing game as Woodhead. The Ravens have utilized him in the passing game in the past, however—he caught 45 passes for 345 yards and two touchdowns in 2015, though in eight games last year he caught just three passes for 15 yards.
But for his career, West averages just 7.7 yards per catch. Woodhead, on the other hand, posts a career average of 9.4 yards per reception and has posted seasons in his career with 76 and 80 catches. In 2015, he posted 755 receiving yards and six touchdowns, production West has shown no indication he can match.
Another thing to keep in mind for both players: West averaged 2.4 yards per carry in the preseason and Allen managed just 2.9 yards per carry, according to Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun. Granted, West averaged a much more solid 4.0 yards per carry last year, but it nonetheless serves as a reminder that the upside for either of these players is fairly low.
There is also the possibility that they will simply end up in a platoon situation and siphon value from one another. West is the player to own at the moment, as he has limited flex potential, while Allen is a worthy prospective add but should remain firmly planted on your bench until he produces with any level of consistency.

Danny Woodhead Suffers Hamstring Injury vs. Bengals
The Baltimore Ravens' rushing rotation endured a setback Sunday when running back Danny Woodhead suffered a hamstring injury against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Ravens listed his status as questionable to return.
Jim Owczarski of Cincinnati.com broke down how Woodhead suffered the injury:
Woodhead has been hounded by injuries over the last year-plus. His 2016 season was cut short after two games because of a torn ACL, and he missed valuable preseason reps toward the end of August while nursing a hamstring injury.
However, he was expected to be a prominent piece of the Ravens' offensive plans ever since he was signed to a three-year, $8.8 million deal in March thanks to his receiving prowess.
"Really, ever since we lost Ray Rice, we haven't had a type of back that's quite like how Ray was and quite like how Danny is in the passing game," quarterback Joe Flacco said, per ESPN.com's Jamison Hensley. "They just have a very good feel for when they're open and how to get open, how to sit in holes, how to find my eyes, and you can already see that."
Baltimore was already short-handed in the backfield following Kenneth Dixon's season-ending meniscus tear, so it will be up to Terrance West to shoulder the bulk of the workload so long as Woodhead is banged up. Buck Allen should also see his workload increase, as the Ravens are down to just two healthy running backs to start the season.

Baltimore County Council scales back pension benefit
The Baltimore County Council voted Tuesday to scale back a pension program that allows for some employees to receive large payouts - but the county executive and some other top officials in the program will still receive the enhanced benefits. The council voted unanimously to ban the practice in the future, except for employees who have been retired for at least one year who come back to the county for a different job.

Ray Lewis Says Colin Kaepernick Not Signed by Ravens Due to Girlfriend's Tweet
Ray Lewis said Tuesday on an episode of Showtime's Inside the NFL that the Baltimore Ravens opted against signing free-agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick because his girlfriend, Nessa Diab, offended the team with a tweet, according to Bleacher Report's Doug Farrar.
The tweet Lewis referred to appears to be one that showed him hugging Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti in a way reminiscent of how Samuel L. Jackson's character in the film Django Unchained embraced a slave owner portrayed by Leonardo DiCaprio.

Alex Collins Signed to Ravens Practice Squad After Release by Seahawks
Three days after the Seattle Seahawks released him, running back Alex Collins signed to the Baltimore Ravens practice squad Tuesday, the team announced.
Seattle selected Collins with the No. 171 overall pick in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL draft after he enjoyed a standout career at Arkansas.
Despite the Seahawks' multiple injuries at running back last season, he played sparingly to the tune of 31 carries for 125 yards and one touchdown, as well as 11 receptions for 84 yards.
Even with Thomas Rawls and C.J. Prosise's injuries, as well as Christine Michael's release, Seattle didn't allow Collins to carry the ball more than seven times in a game as a rookie.
He entered the league with a great deal of potential after topping 1,000 rushing yards in each of his three seasons at Arkansas.
As a junior in 2015, Collins rushed for 1,577 yards and 20 touchdowns.
The Seahawks addressed their backfield during the offseason, and Collins entered training camp without a guaranteed roster spot.
In addition to Rawls and Prosise's return, Seattle signed former Green Bay Packers running back Eddie Lacy and selected Chris Carson in the seventh round of the 2017 NFL draft out of Oklahoma State.
With Carson's strong performance during the preseason, Collins became expendable before finally being waived as part of the final roster cutdown Saturday.
Opportunities were likely to be few and far between for Collins in 2017 even if he made Seattle's roster, so a trade was likely needed to kick-start his young career.
Collins won't initially have much responsibility with the Ravens, but if he can find the form he displayed throughout his time at Arkansas, he stands to provide solid backfield depth.
The Ravens are starting the regular season with Terrance West, Danny Woodhead and Javorius Allen as their top running backs. They had the fifth-fewest rushing yards in the NFL last season with 1,463. Adding a young player with talent to the mix at least gives head coach John Harbaugh another option.
Because Collins was signed less than one week before the regular season begins, he will need time to learn the offense. If he impresses during his time on the practice squad, look for him to get a shot on the 53-man roster at some point this season.
