Ravens' Matt Elam Arrested on Drug-Related Charges in Miami

Baltimore Ravens safety Matt Elam was arrested Sunday morning on three drug-possession charges, according to Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk and Jeremy Bergman of NFL.com.

Per Smith, Elam was charged with "possession of more than 20 grams of cannabis, possession of cannabis with the intent to sell or deliver, and possession of a controlled substance." Miami-Dade police reported they found 126 grams of marijuana and three grams of oxycodone in Elam's car after pulling him over for reckless driving.

Ian Rapoport of NFL.com shared Elam's police records:

According to A.J. Perez of USA Today, he is being held on $15,500 bail.

Elam, 25, will become a free agent on March 9 after the Ravens declined to pick up his fifth-year option last May, which would have paid him up to $6 million for the 2017 season.

He appeared in just nine games for the Ravens in 2016, accumulating just four tackles after missing the first two months of the season while recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery.

Elam, a 2013 first-round pick out of Florida, was suspended for one game in 2015 after violating the league's substance-abuse policy.
