Each year, members of the Optimist Club ask residents to send their nominations for a "Citizen of the Year" - a Dundalk resident whose actions have bettered the community. When Joe Stadler, Gregory's colleague in the St. Helena Community Association and Dundalk-Patapsco Neck Historical Society, mentioned he was going to nominate her last November, she didn't think too much more about it.
