A whale in Baltimore's harbor

Shown anchored temporarily at the foot of Linwood Avenue, this whale was brought into Baltimore Harbor, dead on March 9, 1940, stuck fast on the bow of a ship that, unbeknownst to the crew, had struck it off Cape Hatteras.
