Some in the Essex-Middle River area have expressed concerns about a plan from Baltimore County Public Schools to house an alternative school for students with behavioral issues inside Stemmers Run Middle School. Stemmers Run parents were first informed of the plan, set to take place beginning in the 2016-17 school year, with a phone call from school officials on Thursday followed by a letter sent home with students on Friday from Principal Bryan Thanner.
