Home on maternity leave, Hannah Douglass, a fourth grade teacher at Chesapeake Terrace Elementary School, had been informed by principal Shandra Patrick that she was nominating her for the Dundalk Chamber of Commerce's annual Outstanding Teacher of the Year awards. "I did not think that I stood a chance at winning, as there are so many amazing teachers in the southeast area," Douglass recalled last week.
