While I am not a waterfront homeowner, visiting friends living on the waterfront is always a treat! Gov. John Harbaugh, Ravens Agree on Contract Extension Through 2019
The Baltimore Ravens announced Monday they agreed to a new contract with head coach John Harbaugh. Harbaugh's previous deal expired after the 2018 season.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the extension is through 2019.
Harbaugh is entering his 10th year with the team after replacing Brian Billick in 2008. The Ravens have gone 85-59 under Harbaugh. According to OptaJerry, only four teams have more regular-season victories than the Ravens since Harbaugh took over.

During that time, the franchise also has won two AFC North championships and beat the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII on Feb. 3, 2013.
The timing of the extension was somewhat surprising since Baltimore has missed the playoffs in three of the last four years after reaching the postseason in each of Harbaugh's first five seasons.
In addition, the Ravens are two games under .500 (31-33) since that Super Bowl title. And Sports Illustrated's Chris Burke listed Harbaugh among the NFL head coaches on the hot seat entering the 2017 season.
Baltimore owner Stephen Bisciotti spoke highly of Harbaugh in an August interview on SiriusXM NFL Radio (via ESPN.com's Jamison Hensley).
"I like the message that he brings," Bisciotti said. "He doesn't talk like a guy that's been here 10 years. It's amazing how he tends to rejuvenate himself and his message. And I'm lucky to have a leader like him."
By giving Harbaugh a one-year extension, the Ravens showed they have no plans to let him go any time soon.

Danny Woodhead Reportedly Has Hamstring Injury, RB Could Miss Rest of Preseason
Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun reported Wednesday that Baltimore Ravens running back Danny Woodhead is dealing with an apparent hamstring injury.
Zrebiec added that he isn't sure if Woodhead will play again in the preseason, but the hope is he will be available for Week 1 of the regular season.
News of Woodhead's latest injury comes after he suffered a torn ACL last September that limited him to two games for the Chargers organization in 2016.
Woodhead is expected to be Baltimore's pass-catching specialist in a committee that includes Terrance West and Kenneth Dixon—who will serve a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing drug policy.
Woodhead's last full season came in 2015, and he was highly productive with career highs of 80 receptions for 755 yards and six touchdowns.
If Woodhead's injury impacts his availability for the regular season, West figures to shoulder the bulk of the workload, while Bobby Rainey could fill in as the primary pass-catching option out of the backfield.

Jeremy Zuttah Reportedly Agrees to 2-Year Contract with Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens reportedly have brought back center Jeremy Zuttah to boost the depth on their offensive line.
Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Zuttah signed a two-year deal worth $4 million in base salary and incentives that can push it up to $6 million.
The Ravens traded Zuttah to the San Francisco 49ers in March. He was released by the Niners on Aug. 9, as the team created an opening for Tim Barnes and Daniel Kilgore's ability to play center and guard for head coach Kyle Shanahan.
Center became a major need for the Ravens when John Urschel announced his retirement in July after three NFL seasons to pursue a Ph.D. in mathematics at MIT.
Zuttah spent the past three seasons with the Ravens, starting all 41 games he played for the team. He was a solid player in 2016, with Pro Football Focus' Jeff Deeney noting the 31-year-old finished 13th among all qualified centers with an 82.7 overall grade.
The reunion benefits both Zuttah and the Ravens. He already knows the offensive scheme and can step right in to be a starter as the team looks to make it back to the playoffs for the first time since 2014.

Zachary Orr Retires Due to Spine Injury After Brief Comeback Attempt
Former Baltimore Ravens linebacker Zachary Orr announced Friday he's re-entering retirement after failing to receive medical clearance from 17 NFL teams during his comeback attempt.
Orr posted an article on The Players Tribune detailing his decision to make another effort to play football and his inability to get a "green light" from any team doctors due to a spine injury. So he's decided to give up his dream of getting back on the gridiron.
"Today, I'm officially retiring from professional football … again," he wrote. "And I'm even more at peace this time around because the teams have spoken. If there was any way I could come back, I would. Now, I know that's not possible."
Orr first walked away from football in January because of the congenital back condition. The 25-year-old North Texas product spent the first three seasons of his career with the Baltimore Ravens and told Ryan Mink of the team's official website he was happy the ailment was discovered.
"I'm really just blessed and thankful that we were able to find this problem," Orr said. "The doctors and Ravens medical staff probably ended up saving my life and definitely allowed me to live a normal lifestyle. I'm blessed and thankful that I'm able to walk away from the game in good health."
The Virginia native, who enjoyed a breakout 2016 campaign with 132 combined tackles and three interceptions for Baltimore, started to consider a comeback in June. Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network passed along comments the defender made on Good Morning Football about his diagnosis.
"I had my mind made up. I was like man, the doctors told me I was done. This is a serious issue. So I'm going to leave it alone," Orr said. "But I just kept hearing that from multiple people and some were telling me to just go check out and seek out some more opinions and things like that and come to find out my condition, it is rare—.01 percent of the people have what I have—but there's no actual evidence or facts that I'm at a higher risk than any other player. And it's actually been documented that a college player who had the exact same thing that I have that returned to play with no problems."
His strong performance last season combined with his late decision to take an active part in free agency made him a coveted commodity. Dan Graziano of ESPN noted a quarter of the league's teams reached out to him the same day he publicly declared an end to his short-lived retirement.
Alas, while his on-field production made him an attractive free agent, securing approval from any of the interested teams' medical staffs proved too large of a hurdle in the end.
"Six teams in person, 11 more over the phone—that's 17 teams, more than half the league—and I couldn't get one to give me the green light. Because at the end of the day, my spine was too jacked up," Orr wrote on The Players Tribune. "And no team wants to be the one that has a player die on the field."
He said leading the long-vaunted Ravens defense in tackles last season was a "dream come true," before adding: "I believe everything happens for a reason, and I’m excited for the next chapter of my life, whatever that may bring."

Joe Flacco Won't Return from Back Injury for Ravens Until Regular Season
The Baltimore Ravens announced Friday that quarterback Joe Flacco will not play in any of the team's remaining three preseason games as he continues to recover from a back injury.
"The 10th-year standout has been re-examined, and his progress from a back issue is good," the statement noted. "He will return to practice in the preseason, but he is not expected to play in these games. The plan is for Flacco to be the starting quarterback against Cincinnati in the regular season opener on Sept. 10."
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport first reported July 26 that Flacco was preparing to miss three to six weeks with a disk issue.
Since then, positive news has trickled in regarding the Super Bowl 47 MVP's status for opening day.
On Aug. 1, ProFootballTalk's Mike Florio cited a source with knowledge of the situation who said Flacco was improving, with the "arrow [pointing] up."
CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora followed up three days later and noted a second opinion of Flacco's injury confirmed it was "minor" and that he was "gradually being ramped up" in preparation for Week 1.
Once he's back at 100 percent, Flacco will be looking to lead the Ravens back to the playoffs for the first time since 2014 following a 5-11 finish in 2015 and an 8-8 effort a year ago.

Austin Howard, Ravens Reportedly Agree to 3-Year Contract
The Baltimore Ravens and free-agent right tackle Austin Howard agreed to terms on a contract Friday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Rapoport reported the three-year deal is worth $16 million, with $5.5 million in the first year and team options after each year.
The Oakland Raiders cut Howard on July 28 to save $5 million against the salary cap, and the move opened the door for Marshall Newhouse to take over as their new starting right tackle.
Howard, meanwhile, was left to pursue a new gig as he continued to recover from offseason shoulder surgeries to address a torn labrum and rotator cuff.
Those injuries make Howard something of a risky add, but a short-term flier can't hurt when it's being taken on a 30-year-old who was generally stout in 2016.
With the Ravens, Howard should be thrust into a starting competition right away.
Although James Hurst has tentatively been penciled in as the Ravens' right tackle after starting three games a season ago, he hasn't been particularly impressive in limited action.
As a result, Howard should have every opportunity to prove not only that he's healthy, but that he can contribute in a meaningful capacity as a bookend opposite second-year left tackle Ronnie Stanley.
