The case for optimism

Growing up in the shadow of the steel mill that birthed her, the Dundalk of yesteryear boasted an airfield, military installations, thriving businesses, world-class industry and jobs that could support a solid middle-class existence. With hard work, many families not only survived but thrived - house, cars, picket fence - in other words, the American dream.
