Williams Will Miss At Least 2 Months

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Williams must spend at least eight weeks on the IR list. The Ravens confirmed the roster move on their official website and passed along comments from head coach John Harbaugh about the setback:

It's the same thing he's had. It's a cartilage issue that he has in there. It's not something that can be fixed until it's fixed.

The doctors have to tell us what the best course of action is going forward. He can still play. Is it the best thing for him and all of that? We'll have to figure that out.

The Ravens' second-round pick in 2015 was largely held in check last season. He lost the starting tight end job to Crockett Gillmore, finishing with a disappointing 32 receptions for 268 yards and a touchdown. He also missed two games due to injuries, sitting out Week 7 with a leg injury and Week 13 with a concussion.

He hasn't recorded a catch so far during the current campaign, falling behind Dennis Pitta and Gillmore.

As it stands, the latest injury is just another factor in what's become an underwhelming two seasons for the Minnesota product.
