Smith Out vs. Redskins

Sunday, Oct. 9

The Ravens announced Smith would not play in the second half against Washington after hobbling out of the game during the first half.

Smith Injured Again After Shortened Season

It looked like Smith's NFL career was over after he suffered a torn Achilles last November. Before the start of the campaign, he had said the 2015 season would be his last. Instead, the 37-year-old announced in December he was coming back for at least one more year:

Coming into Week 5, Smith led the team in receptions (24), targets (37) and yards (281) and found the end zone once this season.

Of course, the team can ill afford to lose Smith. Breshad Perriman is unproven in the NFL after missing his entire rookie season, and Kamar Aiken has had trouble matching his production in 2015 with opposing defenses paying him more attention than they did a year ago.

Couple his age with the fact he's coming off a major Achilles injury, and Smith may be eased back into the Ravens offense.
