Eric Decker Trade Rumors: Ravens Interested in WR After Jeremy Maclin Signing

The Baltimore Ravens are apparently not finished trying to upgrade their receiving corps.

While the team announced the signing of receiver Jeremy Maclin on Monday, it is also still interested in New York Jets veteran Eric Decker. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Ravens are "in running" for Decker, and the Maclin deal won't stop their pursuit.

Schefter initially reported earlier this month the Jets' intention to release or trade Decker as part of a rebuilding process.

A few days later, Albert Breer of The MMQB reported news of developing trade talks with the Ravens and other teams. However, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com added that Decker would need to reduce his $7.25 million salary to stay under Baltimore's cap, which could be even tougher with Maclin in the fold.

Health issues are also a question mark for Decker, who was limited to just three games last season because of shoulder and hip injuries.

Still, the 30-year-old is a big-time target when healthy. He finished with at least 1,000 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns in three of the four seasons before last year's problems. He has 52 total touchdowns in his seven-year career.

Considering Ravens receivers only totaled 13 scores last year—five coming from the now-retired Steve Smith—it's clear this unit needs help. Even with Maclin, Mike Wallace and Breshad Perriman, Decker would represent a significant upgrade.
