In a letter sent to parents and staff members on June 9, Baltimore County Public Schools community superintendent Karen Blannard explained that Anelli has "requested a transfer to a different position within Baltimore County Public Schools for the 2017-2018 school year." "I value her two years as principal at Dundalk High School and the relationships that she has built with staff, students, and parents," Blannard wrote.
