Baltimore apostleship offers holiday cheer for merchant sailors far from home at Christmas

Lucilo Huertas grinned and sang "Winter Wonderland" under his breath aboard the Wallenius Wilhelmsen Tamerlane, a 39,000-ton vehicle carrier at the port of Baltimore's Fairfield Marine Terminal. The Filipino seafarer, like many merchant sailors on shipping vessels around the world, won't make it home to his family for Christmas.
